Dr. Tearte served as the 20th Grand Basileus from 1992-1996. Her "World Class Service" Vision engaged the Sisterhood in unprecedented business approaches to involvement in community initiatives while strengthening the foundation of governance of the Sorority. Her administration established the Pearlettes and the Zeta Male Network, while sending more than 75 kids to the U. S. Space Camp. A lecturer at the 4th United Nations Conference for Women in Beijing, China, she traveled with Dr. Dorothy Height and the NCNW delegation. This was the impetus for the chartering of the chapter in Seoul, South Korea. The 75th Anniversary Celebration is remembered as an extraordinaire gathering of the Sisterhood to honor our Founders. Her visionary leadership of the phenomenal Centennial Commission since 2015 has reignited the spark of professionalism and excitement in delivering an EPIC event in 2020.
